Nowadays it almost seems as if we have to choose between paying our rent or mortgage, and paying for pure wholesome food. That just isn't right. We had to find a better way. We created Annie's Buying Club combining my background and experience in the food industry, with your and my experience and need as a consumer. We make choosing organics a real option for everyone. As a buying club, we have the power to buy directly from farms, distributors, and manufacturers. That means the food is fresher, from farmer to you. In addition, buying direct cuts out a lot of expense, saving us even more money. Grocery stores are notoriously wasteful. A grocery delivery service that stocks it's own product does work more efficiently, but there is still electricity and manpower that is necessary for that business to function and that costs money and uses valuable planet resources. Instead, a buying club uses OUR buying power and OUR manpower to allow us to enjoy super fresh produce at wholesale discounted value. Our boxes are full of the freshest fruits and vegetables, always a nice balanced selection. And you help decide what's included in your box. Working together, we are able to eat very well, save money on our grocery bills, and significantly cut back on our ecological footprint. Supporting our local growers reduces food miles and strengthens our community. We focus on seasonal LOCAL organic Florida produce first, then we source organics worldwide to support the hard work of sustainable farmers everywhere.
Joining our buying club is better for us, better for our community, and better for our planet. Receive a bountiful box (up to 35lbs and a $60 value!) of the freshest seasonal certified organic fruits and vegetables for only $45! Want to save even more? Become one of our Buying Club Coordinators and get your box plus more for FREE! Ask How. |

| Why Organic? | |||||
Fresh organic fruits and vegetables contain more nutrients, antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. They taste better too. That's because they come from good nutrient-rich soil which impacts the earth positively and the plants more deliciously. Organic fruits and vegetables are grown without chemical and petroleum-based pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides. Nor may organic farming use sewage– or sludge-based fertilizers as is typical in conventional farming (yuck!). Organic products are free from Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs), hormones, growth stimulants, antibiotics, and cloning. Since conventional products are not forced to label each product, the only way we are assured that the item we are eating and feeding our children is not cloned or genetically engineered is by choosing the organic option. Organic products cannot contain chemical colors, nitrates, nitrites and are free of artificial ingredients. Organic standards implore humane treatment of cattle, dairy cows, chickens, sheep, etc. Organic farming allows them fresh clean water, a clean place to sleep, access to the outdoors, room to move and exercise, and fresh air. Seems like a minimum we can offer but yes, that had to be spelled out in the guidelines. Conventional animals are treated very differently; to say that they are treated poorly is a misleading understatment. There is even new research that indicates that people who eat more organic products have an easier time maintaining their ideal weight and that choosing organic foods can actually help us lose weight! That's because when we consume chemicals and pesticides our liver is in overdrive protecting our body from those toxins. When we eat wholsome real foods created without chemical pesticides, instead of overburdening our liver to clear our body of toxins, our liver can take on it's other big responsibility and use up calories! By supporting organic farmers, we are encouraging more farmers to choose sustainable methods. We are encouraging other countries not to destroy precious rainforest to make way for cheap crops. We are paying more directly to villages that grow coffee, offering them an opportunity for education, schools, and a better way of life while their earth-friendly harvesting protects our birds allowing them a place to nest. Organics are better for people, our planet, and our future.

A buying club is a group of people who share a common goal - to save money on quality healthy foods. By pooling our resources, we create greater purchasing power to buy food at drastically discounted prices. Our buying club reaps the benefits of our talented and caring members. Each of us plays an important role in our success. We work together to save time and money. Instead of shopping individually, we combine our ordering power to get better prices, selection, and quality. We are primarily an Organic Fruit and Vegetable Buying Club focusing on local organics, but we are able to get other items as part of our group, making it more affordable to choose organic products over pesticide-laden conventional items every day. Our Buying Club is a great way to meet others in our community who share our interest in healthful living. We meet and share information, articles, and recipes. We become friends who support one another and offer advice. We are foodies who relish wonderfully fresh fruits and vegetables, We care about our green living, our planet and our future. We decrease our footprint when we source directly. We are also able to get harder to find and more unique items of interest to our group. We are proud to support organic farming practices and local farmers that promote ecological harmony and environmental responsibility. It's fast, easy, convenient and delicious!
How does a co-op differ from a buying club? Like a buying club, a cooperative is a group of people that coopererate in to save money, however, co-operatives are usually bigger stores where members can shop at discounted prices instead of buying directly. Co-operatives are member-owned and offer an option to the traditional grocery store. What areas does your buying club cover ? You can order through us if you are anywhere in Florida. We are having new groups start up throughout the Florida from Key West to Tallahassee!

Our boxes are always a generous mix of seasonal fruits and vegetables. We include basics that we always need and at times may include something that might be new to you. We include menu ideas and recipes for the new item so you can fearlessly give it a try. We share information with your Buying Club Coordinator so that she or he can offer guidance on how to enjoy every piece of produce included in your box. And we are here to help. Call or email us anytime as we have lots of experience with every item we choose. We do our best to include a nice variety and quantity of each item. For example, based upon your request, we'll choose one or more from each general category:
Please note:the above list is just an example. We always do our best to choose a nice sampling of a variety of fruits and vegetables. We are never heavy on potatoes, or greens or lettuces. You help us decide what to order for your box too. The possibility is endless as we search out fresh organics for us to enjoy each week. We never get a big box of strange unusual things; after all, we are part of our club and we feed our families this way too. We always have a nice balance so you can be assured you will find things that you know how to prepare each week as well as something that might be new and delicious.. We've compared the value of our coop boxes to other coops and buying clubs around the country and we found that ours is:
